Toyota Prius Leading Charge Towards A Better Environment

The push to be more environmentally friendly has gained steam in the last decade, and to answer this call to action there has been an expansion in the pursuit for greener technologies.  This push can be illustrated by the increase in power from renewable resources, like wind and solar, and also in the automobile industry.  The Toyota Prius has led the charge toward more environment friendly automobiles since its United States inception in 2001, and is showing no sign of slowing down going into 2012.

The 2012 Toyota Prius Plug-in has earned Decisive Magazine’s Urban Green Vehicle of the Year Award.  The prospect of winning awards is not the reason the people at Toyota worked to create the 2012 Prius Plug-in, but the criteria for which the vehicles were judged represent the successful melding of style, practicality and attainability.  Schaumburg Toyota is excited to have the opportunity to bring this innovative vehicle, which Lyndon Conrad Bell, editor-in-chief of Decisive Magazine called “the Prius everyone has been waiting for,“ to the Chicagoland area.  There are a number of features that make the Prius Plug-in exciting for buyers in all walks of life, not the least of which are its manufacturer-estimated 87 MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent,) extended electric range, selectable EV mode, and quick home charging all in a vehicle with comfortable seating for five.
