EPA recognizes Toyota for environmental performance

Toyota has a history of taking its environmental impact very seriously.  A number of Toyota’s models are perennially ranked among the industry’s best.  Our commitment to protecting the environment does not begin when the vehicles leave the manufacturing facilities though.  This year eight Toyota manufacturing facilities have been recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for improved environmental performance.  If you are in Chicagoland, and you take your environmental impact as seriously as we do come down to Schaumburg Toyota to take a look at one of our many environmental friendly models like the 2012 Toyota Prius v.  

The eight Toyota Manufacturing sites in North America being recognized by the EPA by reducing their energy intensity collectively by nearly twenty four percent.  Energy intensity is measured relative to efficiency improvements in process and equipment.  This is all part of the ENERGY STAR Challenge, and to gain recognition the site’s company must be an ENERGY STAR partner.  To quantify Toyota’s commitment to the environment, earlier this year Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America received its eighth consecutive ENGERGY STAR Sustained Excellence Award for its continued leadership in energy efficiency and management.
