Toyota achieved recognition by reducing total expenditure of energy in the manufacturing process by approximately 35 percent for every Toyota vehicle built, or about 14 billion kilowatt hours worth. That’s the amount of power needed to run a large city for almost a whole year.

Toyota also reduced the amount of CO2 emissions produced for each vehicle built by about 40 percent. They did it by reducing or eliminating natural gas and electricity usage in the manufacturing process when possible to do so.
