Toyota reached the six million-plus milestone at the end of 2013, with a total count of 6.072 million Hybrid vehicles sold in 80 countries throughout the world.  And Hybrid models continue to gain in popularity — the one-million-unit jump from five to six million occurred in just nine months.

The growing popularity of Toyota Hybrid models has some added benefits: Toyota estimates carbon dioxide greenhouse gas emissions have been reduced by 41 million tons thanks to increased use of Hybrid vehicles and compared to drivers of cars that use regular gasoline, drivers of Hybrid vehicles have saved about 15 million kiloliters.  Additionally, as Hybrid technology is further developed and refined it becomes more efficient and costs are reduced.
