Leading The Pledge To Save Water

Summer is coming and that means warmer weather.  It can also mean drought or drought-like condition in many states across the country.  Water usage and water conservation is an important issue; Toyota and the Wyland Foundation have joined together to promote water conservation with the National Mayor’s Challenge for Water Conservation.

The National Mayor’s Challenge for Water Conservation is an initiative that recruits mayors in cities and towns big and small across the country to challenge their residents to reduce water usage in their daily lives.

Toyota is involved in many initiatives to reduce consumption of resources.  As a car manufacturer, and as a necessity in the manufacturing process, Toyota uses water to build and paint cars like the 2014 Toyota Corolla at Schaumburg Toyota.  But conserving water and reducing water usage is an important component of the company’s community responsibility.

According to Michael Rouse, Toyota Vice President of Diversity, Philanthropy, and Community Affairs, “Water conservation is a high priority for Toyota.  In fact, our manufacturing plants have reduced water use per vehicle by 23 percent since 2000, and are setting new goals for further reduction…  Not only does it make good business sense, but we want to be a part of the solution.”
