Toyota Awards Forty-One TogetherGreen Innovation Grants

Building upon the last post regarding the lasting imprint we’d like to have environmentally it is our pleasure at Schaumburg Toyota to tell you about the forty-one environmental projects winning over one million dollars from Toyota and Audubon.  The TogetherGreen Innovation grants are designed to kick start local, solutions based environmental projects nationwide, and have ranged from energy to water to habitat conservation.  This just goes to show you that, while we think being environmentally conscious is good business, we also think there is a larger reasoning behind it.  So in addition to the TogetherGreen Innovation grants, we are also very proud to offer the 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid.
In Connecticut, grants went to provide green job training, mentoring, and employment opportunities for high school students who work to protect nesting birds on the largest intact barrier beach in the state.  In Kansas, grants are being used to reduce pollution and improving water quality by minimizing storm water runoff.  And in Arizona, there were grants given promoting steps congregations can take to reduce their carbon footprints.  These are just a few of the many grants given out all across the nation to help spur environmental ingenuity.
Our support for these types of projects are not a reason to buy a Toyota vehicle on their own, but needless to say it illustrates our commitment to environmental causes.  If you think these types of projects are beneficial, and think taking far fewer trips to the gas station is appealing as well, come down to Schaumburg Toyota to take a look at many of our gas efficient vehicles.
