Toyota SUVs and Crossovers Hot Sellers in January

Toyota reported strong sales for the 2016 Toyota RAV4 and 2016 Toyota Highlander during January 2016. The 2016 Toyota RAV4 posted a gain of 8.7 percent for its strongest January monthly sales performance ever, tallying sales of 21,554 vehicles. The 2016 Toyota Highlander recorded its best January monthly sales in eight years, tallying sales of 11,258 vehicles for a gain of nearly two percent.

The automaker’s light truck division posted strong sales across the board, also posting gains compared to the same month last year. Overall Toyota reported sales of 140,350 vehicles during January 2016.

According to Bill Fay, Group Vice President and General Manager of Toyota, “The industry is off to a healthy start in 2016… For Toyota Division, RAV4 led the way with a record January and pick-up truck sales continued to rise, setting a new January Toyota division light truck record.”
