Toyota Teams With Universities For Safety Research

The safety of all Toyota vehicles on the road is something that we have always taken seriously, and it is today’s students that will be making the even safer vehicles of tomorrow.  Because of this Toyota is teaming with the leading research institutions across North America to ensure that safety is not just something we talk about, but something we actively strive for.  In Washington, DC, Toyota announced the expansion of its groundbreaking partner based automotive safety initiative.  Schaumburg Toyota is proud to be associated with a company that is willing to go the extra mile to make sure our vehicles are the safest they can be, and realizes that the vehicle is only as safe as the person driving it.  If you’re proud of this,  too, and take safety seriously, come over to the lot and take a look at any number of our safe choices, like the 2012 Toyota Prius.

The seven new programs are being undertaken with four new partners.  Those include Stanford University, University of Toronto, University of California San Diego and Ohio State University.  They will be building on ongoing efforts to help reduce the risk of driver distraction and help better protect vulnerable traffic populations.  They will look to expand on research aiming to better understand the interaction between drivers, vehicles and the traffic environment.
