What is i-FORCE MAX®?

Have you considered the 2023 Toyota Tundra i-FORCE MAX® and wondered what makes it unique? The new truck boasts notable performance and capabilities and is ideal for even your most challenging demands. We’re taking an inside look at Schaumburg Toyota.
Powerful Hybrid Powertrain
Yes, you read that right. The Toyota Tundra i-FORCE MAX® is equipped with a hybrid powertrain. That means the pickup truck uses both a gasoline-powered engine and an electric motor, helping it deliver impressive performance while remaining efficient.
What Makes it so Powerful?
With the i-FORCE MAX® hybrid powertrain, the engine and motor work in parallel rather than alternating between the two, as many hybrids do. This makes it much more powerful and responsive than many trucks, even some equipped with a V8 engine. Torque and power are supplied to the wheels through two individual paths, both from the engine and the motor.
The Performance Specs
When you want optimal power in the Toyota Tundra, you’ll want the available i-FORCE MAX® engine, which pairs a twin-turbo V6 engine and an electric motor. The hybrid engine can generate a whopping 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque.
- Available max towing capacity of up to 12,000 lb (requires specific configurations and equipment; see your Toyota dealer for details)
- EPA-estimated 22 mpg combined
Enhanced Capabilities
There is also a multitude of features in the Toyota Tundra that help elevate its performance and capabilities. These features help give you a little extra confidence navigating every terrain.
- Available Multi-Terrain Select – adds customizable Mud, Sand, Rock, Mogul (i-FORCE only), and Auto (i-FORCE MAX only) modes to cater to your conditions
- Adaptive variable suspension
- Load-leveling rear height control air suspension
